I’d give it five stars with the only exception that Wagners’ description of the “flow control” is wrong. The knob, that they refer to as a flow control on the detail sprayer does NOT control flow. But this is a GOOD thing. It is merely an adjustable stopper for the trigger. The trigger is what controls flow, the same as a dual action airbrush will with the only difference being that airflow is constant and not trigger controlled. The farther you pull the trigger back; the more fluid is sprayed. I tested it with acrylic urethane metallic paint I plan to paint the top of a trunk lid and absolutely it will do a great job. You can, with control of the full trigger range; spray automotive paint thinned to the same amount you’d use for traditional compressor/hvlp gun systems, from a fine mist to a large, heavy fan. The only drawback is the airflow again, does not stop on trigger release…and it’s pretty strong even on the low setting. That could be a challenge when using any traditional paint stroke techniques for automotive like you might find in a tech write up by PPG.I will return with pics when I get this done.

Recently I purchased the sprayer to Raptor-line my truck. Like most folks the initial use worked fantastic and was happy with the results. The second use pretty much ruined my paint job. The paint stopped flowing, then after SEVERAL hours of cleaning, the paint ONLY flowed when the unit was turned upside down. After another hour of troubleshooting I discovered that the little blue tack-looking gasket had been sucked into the air valve. Once I pulled out the gasket and reseated it so it was “free-floating” on top, it began working as it was supposed to. By the way if you need to replace the gasket or any part of the air intake assembly, here is a link to the replacement kit: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010MEDQZY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1The biggest problem with the motocoat sprayer is that there are so many parts that must be thoroughly cleaned and checked that it is easy to miss something… and the time it takes to adequately clean it (once you’ve discovered all the little nuances) is easily 1-2 hours, especially if you’re using bedliner. I would have given the product a much higher rating had it not been the cleaning and part issues. Perhaps Wagner can apply some sort of Teflon or similar coating to make cleanup easier.Although not my original intension, I am now an expert at cleaning and troubleshooting the motocoat sprayer. So if you’re having an issue with the sprayer, post your question and I will be happy to answer it.Good luck with your future motocoat projects.

Have had this for about 4 years. Originally purchased it for a plasti-dip project but I’ve used for so many other jobs since. Painting the kids rooms, painting furniture I’ve built, spray finishing both painted and polyurethane trim in my home, you name it.Getting dialed in to the right pressure and flow can be tricky as this thing has the ability to lay down a LOT of product, so start on the lower settings and work UP, not the opposite. Otherwise you’ll blast out a quart of paint in about a minute and have a runny mess.

I’ve only used this to stain a playset so far but have future plans to use for plasti dip and other large paint projects. As far as this first project goes the gun worked flawlessly and was super easy to set up, tear down and clean.

I purchased this to raptor line my truck. It laid down a very even coat without bad surprises. Make sure you soak in soap and water immediately after you use it.If you don’t have a compressor and want to spray liner or plastidip this is a excellent choice.

I love this sprayer, easy to use and clean. I use it to spray bedliner. No overspray, no drip and no mess.

I have painted cars professionally for many years using conventional high pressure spray guns. At the shop we had a company demo an HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spray gun, but we didn’t end up using them. Recently I have been considering upgrading my home compressor and getting new spray guns to paint cars at home, but also had some interest in trying the current HVLP setups.I just bought this sprayer and wanted to share my experience: 1) On first impression the spray guns are totally unlike the pro guns because the design is very simple and everything is made of plastic. I was surprised by this but in use they work great. 2) Upon turning on the power base and attaching the hose to the gun, another surprise – air is constantly coming out and when you pull the trigger paint sprays. In practice this doesn’t really effect the painting process. 3) These guns are capable of efficiently putting out a lot of paint, but the low pressure may limit flexibility for matching metallic paint.Summary: For my car projects at home and my style of painting this system is fairly quiet and works well with almost zero over spray which translates to less wasted material. I have only tried this with basic automotive acrylic enamel but I would expect this to be able to spray pretty much anything that can be thinned out to the right viscosity. Overall, for the price it’s a very good value and you can get pro level results painting your car at home. If I get the chance to try this with metallic I’ll update.
