I bought this gun with some hesitation, as I’ve seen mixed reviews from others, but I really wanted a good quality gun for relatively small projects. My first project was to paint the metal framework that surrounds the glas on two gas fireplace inserts. I needed to use a high temp paint, and decided to shoot a Cerakote metallic high temp paint with the gun. Now, I grew up using the old style siphon feed guns, but everything I read said that gravity feed HVLP is the way to go. Well, from the moment I opened the box I was impressed. The metal fit and finish is excellent, and the gun has a great balance, even when the cup is filled with 8 oz of paint. One thing to be aware of is to read the brief instruction sheet, as you need to tighten the packing nut with a wrench before first use (they leave it loose so the seal doesn’t take a set in storage). I didn’t thin the paint, but used it right out of the container as the directions stated, and after a quick adjustment of the gun fan and fluid needle setting knobs, I was in business. The paint flowed really well, and I had no spatter or problems of any kind, and had very little overspray. In no time I had all the frames painted, and they turned out great! Cleanup was a breeze, but I’d recommend removing the cup from the gun first, to ensure that the seal is cleaned before the paint dries… that could cause it to stick if removed later as some have stated. I can’t wait to get to my next project, and really look forward to using this gem again! I’ve done some research, and you can spend many times the price of this gun, but I’m not sure you’d get any better quality in your paint job results.

I like the ease of use. Very professional results for a budget gun. A lot of overspray though. Overall I liked the gun. It’s 1.3 tip was excellent. It was everything I wanted from a budget gun.

I wanted to use one of my smaller cups for getting in tighter spots, but the threads used don’t conform to any plumbing (NPT) thread that I can find. Tried to locate an adapter to no avail. Otherwise, this is a good HVLP gun

After adjustments and tweaking it works great!

Pretty disappointed with this being a devilibis. There is no air flow control valve on the gun so you have to use one at the air inlet which defeats the purpose of having a small touch up gun with now 3″ of regulator hanging on the end. I’ve used total of three times and now it has developed a sputter.
