*** FlatOut – The Best at Preventing Flat Tires! ***
FlatOut is a one-time tire additive that prevents flats due to punctures up to ½” and stops slow leaks around the bead or valve stem or due to the natural porosity of the tire. It is made up of synthetic TangleTek fibers including Kevlar and unique DamRight fillers suspended in our special Never-Settle base fluid (non-adhesive, non-toxic and freeze resistant). When a puncture occurs, escaping air forces FlatOut into the wound creating an air-tight fiber jam. Think beaver dam but with the fibers and fillers forming an amazingly durable plug! And it’s proven, having been used in military and industrial applications for decades.

I’ve owned my share of mt. bikes. Luckily, I haven’t had many flat tires. But having a flat tire on a mt. bike and having one on an e-mt. bike, are two different situations. The e-bike’s size, weight, and ease of removing (back) tires, makes it more of a pain. I started researching ways to avoid that happening. Plenty of options are available, including liquids like Sl!me, and other similar products, on the cheap end. And on the pricey end, rubber/synthetic tube protectors (like fancy, split, pool ‘noodles’) that are used inside your tire to protect your bike tube. I forget the name of those, but most bikers know. Pricey !!After researching a bunch (YT videos, and articles), I realized that folks LOVE this Flat-Out product. AND IT WORKS GREAT. It will seal larger sized holes than competitors, and will last way longer inside your tube, compared to the life expectancy of competitors’ products. It’s not hard to install. And when I read some folks complaining of ‘install problems’, it’s definitely Operator Error on their part. Watch a short YT video (there’s plenty) of ‘how to install it, follow the directions, and it will take you 10-20 minutes to do BOTH tires on your bike. The only reason it even takes that long, is that you have to remove your valve stem (just unscrew it, using the little tool that comes with you Flat-Out), allowing your tire to fully deflate. MAKE SURE your valve stem IS AT THE TOP (12 O’CLOCK position), before you start installing the Flat-Out gel/liquid. Make sure you have the install clear tube firmly on your valve stem. Then go slow, when squeezing it in. Have a couple of paper towels ready, for any small issues. Re-install your valve stem. Re-inflate your tire. KNOW ahead of time, HOW MUCH Flat-Out to put in your tires. I contacted Flat-Out, and they told me to use 16 oz (half a bottle) in EACH of my tires. But, I have 26″ x 4.0″ fat tires on my bike. A standardized mt. bike will take a LOT less.I have been riding for months, with this in my tires, and had no problems whatsoever. This will go into all of my mt. bikes, from here on out. Try it, it works. Keep in mind, there is NO product out there, that can prevent ALL flat tires. But this will protect you, much better than some of its competitors (who kind of survive, mainly due to their name-recognition).

If you bike alot and have not gone tubeless get a bottle of this stuff and never look back. For some background I commute 5 miles each way to work nearly every day. Even on my days off I’m often putting in similar mileage doing other things. The roads I travel down are decent but its busy enough that there’s always bits of glass around that didn’t get cleaned up from some wreck or another. Prior to installing flatout I’d be repairing a puncture once or twice a month. Usually a slow leak but I had a few rapid flats mixed in. I’ve not had repair a flat in the last 9 months since I got this stuff.Over the weekend got an object lesson in how well it works. I was picking a few shards out of my tires and one of them resulted in a major leak as soon as I cleared the shard. By major I mean the tire was loosing air fast enough to go from full to flat in 30s. I spun the wheel so the flatout in the tube would wash across the puncture and the air leak stopped in less than a second. the tire went from its nominal 60psi to 40 in the few seconds it was leaking. Filled the tire back up to 60 and its still at 60 3 days later. if a puncture happens while riding the fluid will be washing across it constantly and seals right away. What little air you loose will still leave you with a rideable bike instead of having to stop and repair.Out of curiosity I pulled the tire tonight and inspected the tube and found at least 5 other spots where fibers were sticking out of the tube from hits I didnt even know I’d taken. There were a couple other maybe spots where I though I saw fluid residue. Those were all flats I never had to fix on the side of the road. I went ahead and put proper patches on while I had it out but it was probably unnessicary as the flatout was doing its job.If time is money this product has more than paid for itself several times over. I’ll say it agian this stuff just works and it should be in every bike.

This is the first time I used this product, and a video on YT help me to decide using 4 different products concerning flats … etc. Easy install, and under 20 minuets. However, the extra tool that came with it (to take out the stem) was useless for the back tire. It was too long, due to having 20*4.0 tires with motor hub. See Pic. Would have worked great for bigger tires. Just glad the FlatOut product has its own tool in the cap to remove the stem. In my opinion, the extra tool must be shorter so that it works with all bikes to bring up the value of the products that were put together. Otherwise I would have rated FlatOut alone a 5 star.

Put this in my bicycle tires and so far no flats, so I’m guessing its working as intended. I haven’t noticed any punctures yet, so not sure if I had any, but I take it on a rout I regularly get small ones. Guess time will tell.

Added less than recommended amount to two tires on my JD lawn tractor and both fat tires on my e-bike. All of which had tubes, and had to be re-inflated each time I used them. Not any more! They hold air with no leakdown. Far superior to the old messy product I tried years ago, which didn’t actually stop the leaks.
