   I’ve always been a “CLP guy” rather than using cleaners and solvents on my weapons. I just like knowing that no matter where CLP gets, or how long it sits on a gun, it won’t do any damage….I kept hearing great things about this G96. And most commonly, how fantastic it smells. That is definitely accurate and was the primary selling point for me. I love the way this stuff smells.As a product, it does just fine in the “cleaning” aspect. I typically spray some on a patch and wipe down my weapon. It’s had no issues getting crud and carbon off my guns and out of my barrel. From there, I typically spray down the weapon with a light coating and let it sit for a few minutes. I then wipe it all down with a microfiber towel, this takes care of the “Protect” aspect.For lubrication, as much as I like CLP’s, I do prefer a dedicated lubricant. I personally use Weapon Shield. WS pairs really well with G96 as the scents are very comparable. A couple drops of WS on my rails and I reassemble my weapon…Knowing it’s clean, lubricated and protected.I would definitely recommend this item to other people. I’ve been using it for the last 6 months or so and it will continue to be my CLP of choice moving forward.*******************************I rely heavily on reviews when I make purchases so I put some time into reviewing everything I buy on Amazon for personal or business use so I can help other people considering that item.    My dad started using this stuff when it came out in the 60’s. I’ve been using it extensively for going on 60 years. It is by far the best “combo/CLP” product out there. It gets a A++ for protection, an A+ for cleaning, and is a very good lube. It does everything 99% of shooters will ever need to clean take care of their forearms. The only other product I ever feel the need for is a little something on the rails of my 1911’s, but even the thicker gun oil version of G96 excels there. Smells great. No one I ever recommended this to has ever switched back to what they were using previously.

   I had bought a BCM AR16 and loved the smell of the oil that the gun was in. I did some research online and found out what product they use and I have to say that this product seems to work pretty good. I treated the gun with it and shot about 300 rds and the clean up was a snap. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. Thanks for a great product!!!
