Way way better than I expected. If you are a DIY, get this set. The gun can be used in any direction. The angle of the cup is balanced and it so lightweight. You can lay it on its side, has built in strainer so you can load and go. The nozzles get dropped in solvent and they are clean. There is no brushing or cleaning. The 1.4 tip shoots BIN primer like a dream. In less than a minute I was able to change to lacquer with a 1.2 tip. I am giving $1000 in HVLP guns to my neighbor. I don’t need them any more. I just ordered a pack of 1.8 tips to attempt to shoot marine primer. Could not be happier, wish I bought sooner.

Let me start by saying I paint cars for a living, and I’ve been in the biz since 1986. I had heard good things about this gun, stuff that sounded to good to be true. I finally got a chance to demo one via my jobber (the photos are from that demo)…I ordered one later that day. Now, I have thousands of dollars in pro level spray guns. This is the only gun I’ve used for the last 2 weeks! 1.3 for sealer, 1.2 for base and clear (I shoot Diamont solvent and Glasurit 460 clear). Feels good in the hand, weighs nothing, and cleanup is a breeze! If you’re on the fence about getting one of these, get off it and buy one…or 2 they are pretty cheap.

This is my first spray gun, and the features are great for easy cleanup. Cleanup takes minutes, and the gun is light and feels good. Had problems with the regulator not holding steady, found out if I set my main tank output regulator pressure (80PSI) just below the start pressure (90PSI) it held steady. This did cause the max gun spray pressure to 24PSI. When I contacted 3M support who were very helpful and helped guide me to finding the above resolution said this gun should be used with 13CFM or greater compressors.

I absolutely love this gun! It’s sprays great, you can change tip size in seconds, and it’s seconds to clean, not sure how it could get any better. I bought additional cups so I can transfer between colors and finishes in seconds… just love this sprayer.

Since I’ve started using the 3M gun, I haven’t used any of my prior guns again. Clean up is literally wrong the spray needle and done. Best gun I’ve ever owned. Won’t be going back to my iwatas and devil bliss guns.
