Amazon Customer –
I am sure that this system will work fine. I purchased the large kit (Liners and lids) but did not get the Pressure cup. I am sure that those in the paint industry were not confused, but being an amateur, I did not read into the product description as far and as deep as I should. I would recommend that 3M explain more about the requirement that this must be used with the Pressure Cup system, in this case the 16124 H/O pressure cup. Also, the adapter list is not as inclusive as it could be. I needed to return the adapter after ordering the wrong size. (My fault) 3M Customer service helped me thru this issue, and pointed me to my local NAPA parts store for the correct adapter. (thanks 3M and NAPA) After watching the video that 3M has produced on the PPS system, I understand why everyone is going to this system. I am looking forward to actually using this product when the time comes to paint my project car.

I debated going with this system, but after spraying epoxy and 2k primer on my fenders, hood and trunk lid and having to spend a good amount of time cleaning the gun afterwards, especially the cup, I decided I needed to try this system and I am glad I did. And, I am glad I went with the Large cup as it’s just the right size for me and holds more material, which minimizes the use of liners. If I knew about this system when I purchased my spray guns, I would’ve purchased them without the cup and used the savings to purchase this kit.I epoxied my doors today and when I cleaned the gun, I literally just used maybe a couple ounces of Acetone – just a couple fills in the gun until it ran clear and then sprayed some Acetone through the gun the with air line attached. I kept thinking that I’m missing something, so I tore the gun down to be sure and it was clean. It took way less time and material (i.e. Acetone, rags etc) cleaning with this system. I just tossed the liner and was done.Unless something weird happens, I won’t be going back to using the regular cups. For now, I am sticking with the 3M PPS system. I highly recommend this system, even if you don’t paint often. It’s worth it’s weight in gold. Less time, less mess.

I’m using them with a Fujispray G-XP and M model HVLP gun. I own the 6oz and 28oz systems. This review is for the 6oz.PROs:It’s great to be able to tip the gun in any direction and not have any leaks. This makes the CONS listed below only minor inconveniences.Clean up is easier than a regular cup.The pressure tube never gets material backed up into it anymore! The built-in filters are nice because you don’t have to strain the material.Short term storage in the disposable cups is nice, though it’s pretty much impossible to stir it later in the collapsible cups.MyCONS:6oz is a little small for the spraying I do. I wish they were just a bit larger, (8 or 10oz). The only other size available for the H/O model cups is the 28oz which is awkward and strains the wrist.Refilling during a job is a bit more difficult than refilling a regular cup since you have to remove the pressure tube and let the material drain from the gun into the cup. Otherwise it would be a drippy mess.

Have used this system for 18 months now. Using with Generals waterborne products. I LOVE IT. Just mix paint or finish and shoot. Makes cleanup fast and any unused material can just be capped and used later. (Little tip: when saving capped material turn the bag upside down to keep screen inside bag wet….this is very important!)

When it come to clean up, the pps system is convenient because it makes cleaning your gun a lot easier by not having to clean the original cup that comes with the gun itself. You can also use the cup and lid to stored left over paint.

As a frequent user of 3m products I would definitely suggest buying Two boxes if your using this for high volume spray application. I have been using these for the past 5 years and they seem to be losing their durability more than ever. After one use the bag compression causes it to crack or split then paint/primer gets into your cup. Once it’s split, the liner will no longer compress, and you have to use another one. If you don’t know what to look for you will more then likely think it’s a gun or cup issue and it’s not.

These are excellent. Wish they weren’t so expensive but this is one of the better prices that I have found!
