I’ve used these 4 times in snow and once on ice with mixed results they seem to help in snow but they did not work on ice ( had to break and scrape the ice with a metal shovel(board would not lay completely flat) before they were left unusable and broken and the pieces thrown away. They do help get the cars unstuck from snow but usually not on the first try. Some amount of digging, repositioning them, pushing the car from behind are usually still required yet less digging and pushing than having no boards/ramps at all. Instinctively at first when trying them if gently pressing on the gas pedal initially doesn’t get you out ( means you have to dig and reposition the board closer) the usual reaction by most people is to give it more gas ( I know I’ve done it and 2 other people that i was helping) which usually causes the tires to spin and the boards to shoot out from under the tires happened in every use luckily they shot and partially inserted in snow piles and didn’t hit any people. Can imagine getting hit in the shins by one of them would be pretty painful so stay away from the front or back of the car if possible even though pushing the car from behind is pretty risky but is effective. Slow throttle acceleration + a small push from behind that’s usually enough to catch on the ramps. They are small compared to other big recovery boards but the cheap price makes buying them next winter a maybe though would probably go with something flexible like rubber traction mats.

when you live in the snow belt. Well constructed, a ‘peace of mind’ kind of item.

I was stuck on ruts of ice and snow, could not get out even with people trying to push….they were on ice too. I ordered these, came the next day. Stuck them by the tires as best I could….with ice ruts I could not get them under the tires as I had hoped, but….I drove out like I was on dry pavement….shocked….2011 Dodge Grand Caravan…..These worked GREAT for me.

I bought it because I live far from a lot of places, figured for the price it’s probably better then nothing. They’re relatively cheaply built, but the price reflects that. They will probably add traction if and when I need them. So I’m willing to try them. They’re small enough to easily keep in my SUV right behind a seat.

I got these and took them to the beach. I have 4×4 but I wanted to test these before I was in a position to need them. In 4×2 I drove until I got stuck and tried these out. I spend a lot of time driving on the beach and pulling other vehicles out so I’m experienced in this sort of thing. However, I was unable to recover myself with these. I cleared all 4 wheels of the mounds of sand and placed the boards accordingly. All that happened was the wheel pulled them under and buried them. The truck just pushed them down into the sand. After I switched to 4×4 and climbed out, I then had to dig them out of the sand. Perhaps them being so porous keeps them from staying on top of the sand. I’ll try them out at another time and on another vehicle to see if they are any better. 2 stars until then because they didn’t break at least.

I haven’t actually used the product and hope that I never do, but it seems like they will work good. In my younger days I spent a lot of time off road and driving Idaho’s high country snow drifted roads. Wish I would have had this product back then.

It’s good to have in the car during the winter. I used it once and it worked. It seems expensive for a simple piece of molded plastic, but what do I know.
