I purchased one of these to keep in my wife’s Jeep Grand Cherokee instead of relying on the dreaded scissor jack of death contraption. It’s not fun fiddling with extension poles, trying to align the jack and turn the awkward handle while on the side of the road with a flashlight (usually in the winter). This is small enough to store in the spare tire compartment. I opted for the storage case to keep it from tumbling around. In addition, I keep a small piece of 2×6 in the vehicle to serve as a stable base for those times your using it on dirt on the side of a road. Of course the first thing I did was test it out. These are not magic – you definitely need to know where to position any jack – but that’s another topic. I like that the jack has decent travel distance – just over 14″. Plus, the lift head (saddle) is adjustable, so you can unscrew it a few inches in order for it to come into contact with the lifting point – this way you know exactly where the pressure will be exerted. It effortlessly lifted the Jeep enough to change a tire. As a side note, these things are relatively inexpensive, so I’d suggest over-sizing it a bit to have plenty of lifting power. I bought a 4 ton for a Jeep that weighs 2.5 tons (remember you’re not lifting the entire vehicle weight – just a portion of it). Another thing to check before you order one…Make sure the height of your vehicle will allow this to be placed under the lifting point (remember – a flat tire will cause the vehicle to be even lower). You need about 8″ of clearance to position the jack before it’s even raised. This is probably best for SUV’s. A small downside is the lifting head (saddle) seems a bit small – about an inch in diameter. It doesn’t affect functionality, but a bit wider would’ve made positioning it a little less precise and would distribute the pressure a little more. Mine arrived fine – I assume since I purchased the one with a case. Maybe those that experienced leaking or box damage didn’t order it with a case? These are heavy to ship loose in only a cardboard box. Overall, this is a good tool to have in a vehicle. I will add that any temporary jack such as this should not be used if you have to go under the vehicle. I personally would be comfortable using it to change a tire, but nothing more without adding jack stands. I purchased another one for my pickup truck. NOTE: I purchased this item on Amazon for full price and have no affiliation to the seller. I try to write helpful, unbiased and insightful reviews because I also read reviews prior to making my own buying decisions. I notice many reviews lack helpful information, are not well written or give poor reviews based on not reading directions, inexperience or failing to read the product details prior to purchasing. Writing valuable reviews helps pay it forward.

Great product. Functions well and comes with the nice containment case. You would need to still carry some blocks as for my ford f150 it doesnt extend far enough to lift off ground need that extra 4”

I bought it to put it in the trunk for emergent use. The 6 ton one still looks small for my compact SUV. I put it under one jack point and jack my car up without problem. It is slower than my big garage jack but it is ok. No leaking found. You need push the cylinder back after each use. I did not try if there is enough space in case of flat tire but looks the space is enough. I need to use my tape and do some math.

These jacks were life savers not only were they easy to use they were durable and light weight I used them to jack up part of the floor of a house that I’m rehabbing to replace a support beam under a crawlspace and it was successful the storge case that the jacks come in are very durable that molded plastic case is great to store and stack them out of the way this was a great pick up if your looking for a powerful small bottle jack look no further this is the one it also has an adjustable neck to give you more extention

I used this Jack to replace the poor quality Jack that came with my vehicle. This is much better and works great!

This functions well. Just don’t turn the dial too far to the left. Oil will leak out of it. The added height from threaded upper portion is helpful. I used this to level a porch sagging on one side. Wow this was fun to use.

I have 4 jack stands but lost for some reason. Still, I owned 2 floor jacks but need some sturdy support if going underneath the car (Mercedes E Class) and therefore I need at least 2 stand support.I pick Torin 4 tons b/c it is selling in discount. Previously, I owned a 2 ton bottle jack and quite good but lost too. I saw boxset selling in Amazon and free shipping. Alright, it is not as big and heavy as normal 2 ton jack stand and so it can be good alternative for me.Recommend and worth buying in this price level, 2 ton price can buy 4 ton support. Thx Torin and Amazaon
